Alfa pix - 10
Brave enough to pop the top in winter ... even on your honeymoon?

Above left: Jerry Quinlisk created this terrific scene showing a bevy of creatively winterized Alfa SNOmobiles. To see more of Jerry's wonderful art, please track him down
through
AlfaBB or email jquinlisk at comcast dot net. Above right: Serious Alfisti Michael and Tamara Williams celebrate their first wedding anniversary in December 2010.
It will be
hard to top their honeymoon.
The two took their 1969 Duetto on a 3200-mile honeymoon trip that included tents and trees, as we see in the photo. Below are
two
more
shots of Tamara and
Duetto. In one, the car is dressed for a festival of lights parade in Sacramento, California. In the other, it's dressed for the Northern
California
Snowball rally (Not run
by us; ours would have to be the SNOball Rally).

Above: Francisco Moreno, from Barcelona, Spain, sent us these shots of his Alfa 156 2.5, his 164 QV 24V that will be a donor car for a future project, and his 1990 S4 Spider that
is being restored and modified.

Above left: Ed Prytherche's 1979 Spider strikes an aggressive pose. Ed says the Spider is "very NO," with seats
from an '87 recovered in cloth; bumpers from Euro
cars, and an overall Euro look. Head, cams, lightweight clutch & flywheel & modified gearbox are all from
Richard Jemison. The "Webers are from some unidentified
European car and it has a 123 dizzy + MSD box (123 tech people said they would not work together)."
Above right: Jonathan Collier's Ferrari Fly Yellow 1972 GT
Junior lives in Marlborough, New Zealand. This eye-catching beauty has a 2-liter motor, lowered suspension,
upgraded brakes, aluminum boot and bonnet, and
more. He says "it goes round corners like it is on rails!"

Above left: Ian Lomas, from Portland, Oregon, writes that his previous pride and joy was the 1971 fly yellow Spider shown above, which had a 2L engine, lowered suspension, LSD,
electric fan, and "a bunch of other mods I no longer remember." His current cherished ride is quite different ... seriously different. Created from the fertile mind of Jeff Zurschmeide,
Ian's new ride is a 1974 Berlina sporting an authentic Formula 1 spoiler, with equally authentic rat-rod flames. Warning Portlanders: Don't mess with the Zohan!!

Above left: Los Angeles resident Robert Hutt's 1977 Alfetta sedan and 1987 milano. Above right: This is what a REAL SNOmobile looks like in the dead of winter,
as opposed to how they appear in Jerry Quinlisk's delightful artwork. Thanks for Pekka Rossi, of Finland, for showing us his Alfa 159, sort of.
