An AUSCA Spider? We've got that
and more fine Alfas here
... and most are not originale

This is a 1965 AUSCA Spider, the roadster with the snarky, show me your most challenging corners stance. The red machine in the background is no slouch either; it's a Ferrari GTB.
Both cars belong to Gordon Raymond and he says neither are garage queens. The Alfa began life as a 1965 Giulia Spider Veloce. He says it was purchased new by him, then "set up when I was at AUSCA with Horst Kwech and Ron Neal, mid and late 60's." Kwech and Neal were known for their racing successes as proprieters of AUSCA (AUstralian CA racing), in Illinois in the 1960's and '70's.
Gordon says his pretty Spider has full GTA running gear, has been his since new, and has never been restored. Dang! If it weren't for all that GTA stuff it would be original. I don't care; I want one.

Lee explains: "Hehehe…not from an Alfa…from a Suzuki, using a 3cyl Swift (Geo) engine as a base. I considered the Alfa 1300 as it would probably be easier to fit…but…the 3cyl would better suit my purposes. We have a turbo multiplication here of 1.7, so to stay under 2.0 class, I can use a maximum of 1176cc.
The purists must feel like they've been pureed about now.

Brian Shorey sent in this photo of the 2009 class-winning Milano LeMons racer with this explanation: "Andy Kress and I, two SNO
officers, were looking at the most recent modification of our 24 Hours of LeMons car (suspension actuated pizza box wings) and Andy
made the comment that if any car was worthy of SNO status, this is it." We agree. Interesting car and nice win in Connecticut.

Above left: The memories of Alfa projects past are rekindled by the shot of Jim Barrett and friends rolling a 1957 Sprint project car up the driveway.
Above and right is Jim's very fine '73 Spider, Eddina.
On the left: Not sure what the dog's name is, but it's either guarding Jim's 1982 GTV6 or waiting for a ride.
