Alfa pix - 9
Old or new, we love our Alfas (and our Alfisti), as the following clearly show

We're always honored to welcome residents of Italy to SNO.
It's the country
responsible for our auto addictions. The most recent is Fabio,
who hails from Vicenza.
His cars are pictured left and above,
and they're beauties. I'm especially partial to the grey GTV6
on the left. It's a 2.5 liter 1983, restored in 2002. Fabio says it's also his favorite, and he uses it for track days.
Above left is his 2002 Sportwagen 156, also a 2.5-liter V6. He reports the pretty wagon handles great and has a lively 24-valve motor. How's that for a daily driver! Above right is his immaculate black 1986 1.8 Turbo Alfa 75. Fabio's is the first Turbo 75 model, without America-type bumpers. It has a new Garrett turbo, chip-tuning, exhaust (completely CSC - only one silencer), lower and stiffer springs, sports adjustable shock-absorbers, and custom wheels (7.5x16 front, 9x16 rear).

Chuck Lipper’s 1965 GTV comes with a great story. It was originally purchased by Frank Howell, a Lockheed employee working overseas. Frank bought the car after driving from Istanbul to Frankfurt in his VW Karman Ghia. He was tired of being stuck in the slow lanes so he promptly bought the new Alfa.
The photo above left shows Frank on the right, with Chuck Lipper’s brother, in Atlanta, Georgia, the day Chuck became the Alfa's new caretaker.
The photo above right shows Frank’s wife Hazel with the Alfa on the Spanish Riviera in November 1965, the car just a couple of weeks new. The couple was enroute from Frankfurt to London via Pisa, Monaco, Barcelona and Paris.
On the left are Chuck and Cindi Lipper with the Lowells in Atlanta, where they all live. Chuck is the former owner of a Callaway Twin Turbo GTV6 2.5. Frank, who was 91 in 2010, is now a Bizzarini and Jag XK140 owner. Gheesh! My neighbors have tractors; not a single sports car among them.

Above left: Bob Hoye, of Vancouver, B.C. takes his modified Spider around the track. Above right: Evan Bottcher powers around a bend in his Alfasud Ti during a club track day at
Winton in Australia. Evan's 1977 Alfa is a stripped out racer, with 1500cc engine (originally 1200), rollcage, race
suspension, brakes, and more.

Above are two GTVs belonging to Ken Lee, from Ontario, Canada. On the left is a 1973 named "Blanche." On the right is a '74 named "Ruby." Both are shown taking laps at Mosport.
Above left: Ray Gulson, Australian auto racer, car dealer and all-around enthusiast, bought this lovely 1964 Alfa Giulia GT race car at the end of 2009 and immediately took it to
Oran Park
Raceway. Good going Ray! Above right: The 1973 GTV of Eldridge Moses, Stellenbosch, South Africa. Eldridge writes that his much modified GT has a ported and gas-flowed head.
It runs on 11.2mm cams with 280 duration and high-compression pistons. The car has PBR brake boosters and rides on 17inch rims with a 20mm offset. The car also has a dealer-fitted fabric folding roof and recovered leather interior. "The Weber carbs have 25mm ram tubes in K & N filters for better flow at the top end," he says. "it's quiet below 3000rpm and makes a lovely induction noise till 8000rpm!" Exhaust is through a 50mm (2 inch) free-flow exhaust system (two boxes). It would be fun to see the race-prepped car on the track with the hot street machine.
